yesterdays scare

Want a scare in life ? Get a call from the New York postal narcotic division , And have them tell you your package tested positive for low grade narcotics.

As the story is three weeks ago had a customer place a order for our lures, get it boxed up and of to the post office. A week later get a note from the scranton sorting facility say it was stop because of the smell and if I wanted it back I had to go a pick it up or they will throw it out.Since the great postal service sending letters we did not know for a week and just thought they threw it out......Get home yesterday afternoon,Walk threw the door to a phone ringing, answer it to hear...

Hi I like to speak to Mr.Larry Barrows.....

I say you are speaking to him ....So the conversation went like this...

This is the New York postal service narcotic division you are under a investigation for using the postal service to ship narcotics..and any thing you say can be used ageist you as this conversation is be recorded...

WHAT? ...

Yes sir your package was stop and pulled out off the line because it was detected showing low grade narcotics that was going to middletown new york...

Sir you must be mistaking the only things that we ship is trapping lures...

Trapping lures? ....

Yes sir scents used in the trapping trade to harvest animals.....

OK, Is it alright to open the package to look what is inside?.....

yes please do you got my full cooperation....

Can you give a address and what is inside of the package?...

yes please me let get my receipt book,ok it is going to so&so at such and such place in middletown N.Y.inside are four glass bottles wrapped in news paper they will say final approach,fur-sure,red fox gland, and SK call......

These are fishing lures, used for fish what?....

No, these are trapping scents for the use of harvesting wild fur for the fur trade...

Oh ok what are they made of?...

they got beaver glands, fox glands, oils and other stuff.Plus there should be a small catalog in there that describes the lures.....

What ever you are using to make these scents/lures are be detected for a low grade narcotics.which will throw up the red flags....

I have a idea which lure is causing this problem,I guess I'll have to mention that lure can not be mailed....

That is a good idea other wise it will be stopped for showing narcotics.....

Is there a way I can avoid this problem in the future?....

Put your business logo or some thing that show what the business is that might help, we will still have to investigate the package then it will have to be destroyed because we can not put it back through the line because it will get pulled again....

That is not a problem or if you know any trappers just give it to them.....

(laughing) I don't know how many fox and coyotes are in the city be side rats....

it would most likely work good on them also...LOL...

Mr. Barrows thank you for your cooperation and have a nice day.... too have a nice day

And through this whole conversation the only thing going through my mind is I'm going to jail and my cell mate is some big guy called BUBBA

Wow!!!! That'd be a heck of a phone call to get for sure!!

I'd like to have seen their faces when they opened it and opened the bottles looking for drugs!

Re: yesterdays scare

The lure is so good, the drug sniffing dogs go nuts over it and forget all of their training.

Re: yesterdays scare

Back in the 70's and 80's trafficers used to ship narcotics in containers with coffee grounds to throw off the dogs. I can see where this is going...ha ha ha. If you're going to continue to ship stuff to NY Flyguy maybe you should make sure Beagler is on your FREE stuff mailing list.

If I'm not hunting or fishing with the kids....I'm somewhere on a Judo mat.
