Broke out!

Last night I had a coyote get in a 1 1/2 I had set for fox. It ripped the jaw from the trap. I have never had an animal pull the jaw out before. From the track size it was a big one.Looks like time to upgrade the traps.

Re: Broke out!

Years ago my very first bout with a coyote ended the same way. Popped both jaws out at one end. The following week I bought a small lincoln welder lol

Re: Broke out!

I have had popped jaws and bent baseplates. Every one my traps are now baseplated and I weld the tips of the jaws. No more problems.

Re: Broke out!

Had one pop a jaw on a mongomery #2 round jaw, before modification.

Re: Broke out!

My uncle sent me a picture a more or less dismantled Bridger #2. Unreal how it destroyed that trap.

Re: Broke out!

LOL! If I hadn't seen the trap, I wouldn't have believed it ripped out of a bridger, but it did. I'll have to see if I can find the pics.
