Re: d/p bait after catch
That question occured to me this morning. I caught a large coon in a DP.When I reset the trap I looked inside to see if I needed to rebait. It was completely empty and shiney.The only thing I can think of is that after the coon is caught and the initial excitement of the trap catching one paw is over,the coon reached inside of the trap over the caught paw and proceeds to remove the remaining bait and eat it.As was mentioned above,if you happen to catch a coon by both paws there will be some bait in the bottom of the trap.If that is the case I think that is a good testimate for the trap. If that trap doesn't cause enough pain for the animal to forget about retrieving the rest of the bait,itmust be a good trap.
