bait was gone out of both.

It may be the heat. But to find no trace of it seems odd.

I think they can still pull it out past their paw and eat it. Out of several hundred coon in dp's, the only ones not empty and shiny are from the ones that are double handcuffed, I don't think there's enough room left to empty them.
