Red in a hay set!!

On Friday I got the word that I would be laid off for a few weeks so I decided to run a small line. I didn't think I would get a chance to trap this year so I didn't get anything ready this summer. Over the weekend I hurried and got a few dozen traps boiled and waxed and was able to throw a few sets in on Monday. I only have 4 sets out yet so far from all the rain and snow melting and now more rain and snow to come these conditions are hard to work with.

I was fortunate enough to pick up this nice male this morning in a hay set!
Showed no signs of rubbing yet.
I sold him today to the local fur buyer and was very surprised to get $40 "on the carcass" or "in the round" whichever you want to call it.

Dang he looks worn out. Great looking fur too, nice and prime.

Was it worth the trouble? HA! What trouble?!
