I read somewhere that canned dog food the cheap kind like old roys and other's work for fox and yote. Has any one ever tried using canned dog food before?

Sure, I do. as a change up. Put a little food lure in or use alone. I post on this a time back.

In what book or video says you must use trapping bait?

None but I was wondering I put some nasty canned dog food in a mason jar and put some skunk essence on it to try it. Have you had luck with the dog food?

Re: Canned dog food?

If you have fox dogfood will work just fine. Iknow a guy trapping in Delco using egg yolks taken from hard-boiled eggs and thats all. He caught quite a few.

Re: Canned dog food?

Catch enough fox every year in coon sets using dirtholes with dry dog food that I no longer consider them strictly coon sets. Try to have at least one foothold at each stop for that reason....
