Dirthole remakes

Just looking to hear everyone's strategy on remaking a dirthole after a fox catch. Do you make a walk-through? A scent post? Another dirthole?

I remake it with another dirthole the best I can. This is the 3rd fox at this set (making it the 2nd catch in the remake).

Re: Dirthole remakes

I remake as a dirt hole as many times as I can in same hole. If need be I move hole slightly leaving original hole. the first and now second hole just adds eye appeal, but the left over scent from the catch is what is driving the bus.

Re: Dirthole remakes

So turning the dirthole into a scent-post isn't as common as I thought....

Re: Dirthole remakes

Like to add a scent set real close upwind if possible. Some critters just won't enter the ring, but still want in the fur shed. Have found that making a new dirthole next to the blownout one gets more action more often than the old.

The difference between dreamers and achievers is action.
One try is worth a thousand guesses.

Re: Dirthole remakes

I remake the dirthole also. I have taken as many as 15 at the same set location with the same trap.

Re: Dirthole remakes

caught a 4th fox today at that set, so its the 3rd one in the remake. Can't figure out why anyone would remake their dirthole into anything else.
