Center locating and swivel in one

Has anyone ever taken the center section of an inline swivel and welded it to the base plate of your trap and swiveled the center at the same time. Kinda killing two birds with one stone

I haven't, but that is a VERY interesting idea. It might make it more difficult to bed the trap solidly with that big bump on the bottom of the trap though. I guess it depends on your soil type and frozen ground situations....

I might have to try this during the off season...Thanks for the idea.....

Re: Center locating and swivel in one

I have done it and it is hard to bed a trap solidly without digging a pretty deep hole in the center to hold your chain and the swivel and most of the time you have to stabilize the trap with nails or rods. It's so much easier to leave the design the way it's made less headache

if you insist on center swiveling just baseplate with a d ring and forget about all the other ways...time saved is money ahead!!!!!!!!!

Just drill the cross frame with a 3/16 bit and install an rivet/J hook in the hole. Some Victor traps are base swiveled this way, and I've done some Bridgers like that.

Of course, if you set them over your knee, you're going to have a major bruise. Baseplate and D-ring, or the PIT center locator, is the way to go.
