Re: Bobcat lures

I've posted these recipes before. They are good solid bobcat attractors.

Beaver Castor Lure
Grind green beaver castors and mix with enough glycerine to get to the conistency you want. To 4 ounces of the above mixture add about a teaspoon of beaver oil squeezed from the oil sacs. This will work well for beaver too.

Call Lure
Fill a gallon glass jar with suckers, catfish, trout, etc. and set in the sun for most of the summer. Then strain through hardware cloth to removed the bones.
In a pint jar add:
2 ounces glycerine
4 ounces ground beaver oil sacs
2 ounces skunk essence tincture (made by adding 1 ounce pure skunk to 15 ounces peanut oil)
fill jar with fish cream/juice.

Liver Lure
Grind beaver livers and preserve with sodium benzoate or pickling salt
In a pint jar add:
2 oz glycerine
2 oz ground green beaver castor
1 oz beaver oil
1 oz fish juice/cream
fill jar with ground preserved beaver liver

Catnip Lure
In a 4 oz jar, add one ounce glycerine.
1 1/2 oz ground catnip leaves
1 1/2 oz ground beaver castor
12 drops imitation catnip oil

I also like commercial red fox and bobcat gland lures and anything skunky.
