what kills a trap coon

My son had a coon killed in the trap yesterday and it had bite marks and a ripped lower jaw. This was down in a dark thick creek bottom.we have bears and yotes, greys but no cats that I know of.Would yotes or greys do this to a coon.I've had yotes go after their mates in a trap but never any other animal.I know theres two year old cubs down in there as we took momma on Saturday.

yote addiction: a pack a day

Re: what kills a trap coon

I had other coon kill one in a trap late in the season. The reason I know 100% it was other coon was there were three different size tracks in the mud around the dead one. And yes he was very tore up and it look like a heck of a fight happened. The others must of been mad at him for being dumb enough to stick his paw in a 1.5 duke. LOL

Honesty is my only excuse.
