Coon Cuffs

I have used coon cuffs before and have recently started using them again. Lately I've been using marshmallows as a bait and a scented bait for smell, but repeatedly the marshmallows have been completely gone (the trap not even set off) does anyone know what could be stealing the marshmallows from the coon cuffs?
Thanks.

Re: Coon Cuffs

Mice for sure. Set a golf ball on the opening to keep them out. Some guys use a foam cup. Plus, either will be eye appeal for the coons and they can surely remove them to get to the bait.

Re: Coon Cuffs

for me the foam cup doesn't do any thing for mice, they just chew it up.
