Wire stretcher for mink?

Do any of you guys use wire stretchers for mink. I always used wood, it's time to make new and I was thinking about wire ones. I personally do not know anyone that uses them. Just trying to get some opinions. Thanks.

Re: Wire stretcher for mink?

I have 2 wire mink stretchers. I've had them for almost 40 years. I have used them, mostly when I've run out of wood. I do not particularly like the job they do. All mink trappers I know and all fur farmers will tell you to stick to wooden stretchers for mink. I cannot stress this enough. Get the idea of wire for mink out of your head. Stick with wood.

I trap mink because I don't know any better
