Over the past few seasons I have been using alot of peanut butter, and have gotten away from the meat and fish hommeade baits I was taught as a youngster and have been very pleasantly surprised. also a big fan of "moonshine".
"Elk don't know how many legs a horse has pilgim."
I always have one set smelling sweet, and one a little more fishy for coon.Never kept records on my coon trapping but will have to see what works better this year. Most of my coon lures this year are the sweeter variety.trying out Carmens new coon lure;nocturnal. Not doing much coon trapping though as the prices will be terrible.More for my so to learn on
Ain't that the truth!
I use mostly cheap cat food and a squirt of fish oil. Going to mix up a fruit bait for this year, though. Do you have trouble with the peanut butter getting on the hide? That is why I never tried marshmallow cream, although I always thought it should work great. Imagine trying to get that stuff out of a coonhide. Wondered if peanut butter would be the same?
