Which Is Better For Coyotes?

I have #2 Duke Offset coil springs and was wondering if I need to step up to #3's for coyotes or are the #2 OS good enough to hold? I will double stake them with birkshire stakes. What are your thoughts?

The #2's are plenty to hold a coyote.

No you do not need to double stake with berks,Just make you set your stake once you drive it in the ground.
To set the stake, once it is in the ground pull the cable sideways with a quick jerk

Duke #2s will hold them but I recommend shortening the chain a little and adding an in-line swivel.I use all duke 3s for yotes but have held my share in their 1 3/4s

Re: Which Is Better For Coyotes?

Coyotes are hard on things. Make sure you do everything within your means to ensure the trap will NOT fail. Dogs get bent but the trap will keep for the most part intact.

1.75 Sleepy Creek coyote modified. Note the shock spring, this helped keep him in the trap. It didn't fail but really got worked over.

Here was the yote.....
