Montana 1.5 Specials vs Longliners

This has probably been addressed previously but what is the main difference in these traps? Does the longliner just need more modification? Is the special just a heavier trap? Thanks for any insight

Re: Montana 1.5 Specials vs Longliners

I've only handled them, not used them. The special is a copy basically of the old Montgomery, a real heavy duty, thick jawed trap. The longliner is just a Duke wanabee.
Betcha the specials will still be taking fur long after the longliners are scrap metal, but hey, you get what you pay for!

Re: Montana 1.5 Specials vs Longliners

The Montana specials are the best fox trap out there for lass than $10. The MB is prob the best but are $15 a trap. Like pawsonpan said they are a copy off the old monti's ( witch are a still a GREAT trap). The long liners are crap!!! I can't beleave they are still selling them. I would defiantly get some specials u won't be disappointed
