Trapping Spots in SEPA

Does anyone know about any trapping areas in southeastern pa, but mostly in the Chester County area. I have been looking for a new spot for years but never got anywhere. Has anyone tried to trap on public land, and had any luck?

Look for private land next to public land that does not allow trapping, like state and county parks. I have a couple small acreage places next to these types of large expanses of land....find the pinch point, all you need is a travel way and permission from the private landowner.

I was thinking like French Creek, Marsh Creek. Has anyone trapped there or would it be a good idea?

I would think they'd both be real good.Just don't get too upset over theft as it will happen.Try and blend your sets in good and it will help.If your on location the animals will find it

Yeah I could see people stealing fur. For me I use 18 inch chained superstakes and they need about 400 pounds to actually pull them out of the ground. So im not that worried about loosing traps.

Re: Trapping Spots in SEPA

I use super stakes too.If they find them, they will come back more prepared to get them;bolt cutters and a few seconds is all it takes
I've learned to deal with a little theft, but it still ticks me off.Esp. when you know some are done by other trappers. Not too many dog walkers carry cable cutters to cut my traps free of their stakes.Since blending everything in good, my yote catch went WAY up and theft down.Don't lose many sets for coon, but I don't trap them wheres theres much reason for anyone to be around besides trapping
