mice

Anyone trap mice and use them for canine bait???

I have a mouse problem at my new place im staying at here in MI for the summer..figured the problem can turn into canine trapping bait as i collect them....and can put traps outside around the house to collect a few more and try to curb the problem..

Just not sure what to do with tham after i catch them....

Was thinking about cutting them in half or 1/3s and jar them fresh with SB...but, they wouldnt be freeze proof....and maybe a bait solhtion would be better...or.....? Any recommendations??

Would love to have a good amount to try and maybe do some different things with if i get a bunch and y'all got a few recommendations....

One thing i will say...i dont like highly tainted baits that draw in the grinners and stinkers......

Thanx

Re: mice

When at camp I freeze the mice I catch. I keep them in a zip-loc bag and just stuff them down the dirt-hole with some lure on them. I figure it's better than just throwing them away and they make decent lure holders

Eh...wot?

Re: mice

Find a cheap/heavy duty hand grinder at a yard sale and grind those little fellas up. Stop the taint with SB and soak them in fish oil. Bon appetit!

Re: mice

i have a crazy all black stray cat that decided it wanted to live with us.

after a few days of catching mice it earned its place here.

this cat hunts every second clearing the whole town of rats and mice and brings them right to the door. it freaks the wife out. but its a constant supply of bait to blend and freeze for the season.

x2 That's what the bait "just mice" is. Make ur own and maybe add a lil twist to it!

Honesty is my only excuse.

Re: mice

I am paying my son to trap them. He has a gallon jug in the freezer now.
