Re: Fisher and bobcat totals?

I was told 703 were trapped by a reliable source. Still haven't heard the hunting totals. Last years total was 1136 combined.

Re: Fisher and bobcat totals?

Anyone hear of a chance of a fisher season here in the northeast? I caught/released two this season. And it was my first year trapping.

Re: Fisher and bobcat totals?

they need to expand the fisher trapping areas....I see fisher tracks everywhere I go. They do lots of killing.

Re: Fisher and bobcat totals?

I would venture to guess that the cat totals are less that what they were last year, due to the lack of snow during the season.......

Re: Fisher and bobcat totals?

Just had a banquet tonite and the specker was a bioligist from the game commission,The totals for this year was 126 fishers with over 2500 permits sold.

The bobcats was 13,134 permits sold, with the total of 969 taken and 729 out of the 969 were taken by trappers

There also was talk of a maybe of a otter season in 2014 2015 and that is a BIG maybe

Beagler, that was also talked about and they don't have enough data on a population in the northeast,If any one see's one, traps one see's a road kill call your regional head quarters and report it...They are looking for information about them

Re: Fisher and bobcat totals?

I can give them tons of info. While cat hunting I easily see as many fisher tracks as any thing else. I also have seen a few road kills. I can't believe they really need data...all they have to do is take a ride on any game land around the area in the winter.
