MB 450??

Ran some MB 550's last year and liked them. Thinking on some MB 450's to try as a all around Pa. aland trap. Having trouble spending the money on a 1.5 size traps. Anyone have 450's - your thoughts??

Re: MB 450??

I like mine. I like my 550's better. and they're only a few extra bucks.. If I could do it again I'd buy all 550's...

It is time to manage avian predators!

Re: MB 450??

too expensive. Run northwoods or montgomeries for half the cost, Half the pain when stolen too

Re: MB 450??

I am sure that they are really nice traps, but how do you guys justify the cost of them? At this point I am using about 95% Duke traps, I had some Victors and Sleepy Creek traps, but I sold most of them, and bought more Dukes.......All I do to the Duke traps is center swivel them, cut a few links out of the chain, add a mid swivel, and bend or weld the tips of the jaws.........

Re: MB 450??

its like driving a chevy vega or a caddy, both will get you there but one rides so nice!!!
those dukes work for a few years, then the metel their built with starts going, and you end up with what? i'll spend the money up front and use them for years.i'd rather trap than modify traps.i seem to catch more with the traps in the ground than on a vice.

QUALITY AMERICAN MADE. I don't buy everything American because the market is flooded with foreign made products. I'll buy what's better made most times. But I prefer American made. Tight line to walk, I know.

Everyone wants/needs more wages to get ahead but we are always looking for products on the cheap. Well....we get it, at the expense of American Industry. I don't mean to start an economics discussion, or turn this political but that's how I justify the cost for Quality, American Made.....sometimes.

I agree, but you can still buy Victors and Sleepy Creek, and probably BMI for half of that price, and they are all American Made....
