it's time

about time now for some serious beaver trapping. me and the boy took a ride after work and the ice is finally melting away.still have a few spots with a little but i'm sure it will be gone by weekend. we managed to get 3 sets in this evening but saturday is when we hit em hard.

ICE??? whats ICE? funny how the weather differs across the state! frozen ground was tough to come by this winter let alone ice! i never checked any bigger lakes but the farm pond never froze completely over this winter...first time ive ever seen that..usually the ducks are down to a few feet of water they keep open by swimming in circles...


good luck!! i got the trapping bug so bad already im about to go set random beaver sets on local creeks that drain into the big rivers...heard it can be very productive this time of year...but i have no idea..

you should set those creeks. just about any main body of water around here gets a couple beaver moving through looking for love. this is the best time to be a beaver trapper.

I wish I had beaver near me. I'm really wanting to head north to camp to try for a few more but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.
