Beaver Snaring??

Anyone use snares for Beaver? I'm pretty much snare ignorant. What kind, what size?? Thanks

most of my beaver trapping is done with snares.i beleive mine are 3/32 cable.

pretty easy actually,once i figgured out how to anchore tham.i make a double ended cable(1/8" cable) and wrap around a tree or clump of stakes driven under the water,sticking the loop thru the cable to make it tighten to the anchor.use a quick link to attach the snare cable to the extension cable.set the support wire and hange the snare,about a 10"loop half in the water.either a castor mound or a "run" set.i use the same cables as i do for coyote.

all you have to do is put the loop where they swim.....

Now your diggin' where the 'tators are!
