Wolf Fangs

Who uses these disposable stakes and how do you like them? Are you using them for all your traps...coons, K9's, Cats..etc? What cable length is suitable for the larger critters? Thanks guys.

Re: Wolf Fangs

I'm a superstake fan as well. Currently running cable (length's and cable thickness varies) but am going to make the switch to all chain stakes next year and sell off the vast majority of my traps so I'm only running 1 kind instead of 3-4. I want everything to be the same so there's no hunting around through my bin of clean traps looking to see if there's anymore #2's or anything, just reach in, grab what I need and go.

Re: Wolf Fangs

X3 on superstakes with a 12in x 1/8in cable. i tried burkshire stake with all the stone around i found i streighten the points right out so now i just use super stakes. i got 4 coyotes with them the biggest being a 38lb male they didnt even budge them. i had to dig them out with a pick to free them. ps.. i tried smaller cables and they would snap and i would have to dig them out anyways.i just cable to trees or logs for coons.

I like wolf fangs alot. Super stakes are great but I will only use them with a chain set up.

Re: Wolf Fangs

Super stakes with chain for me.. Can't see where I'll ever wear them out or they'd ever break... Buy or make yourself a nice stake puller. You'll need it and it's quick. No digging.. If you're talking disposable as in "cut the cable and go" when you're done. I have no experience with this...

Re: Wolf Fangs

I used Wolf Fangs on my fox traps with 12" cable, caught a few fox with no problem. I couldn't pull them out of the ground except with a stake puller. Also, Wolf Fangs with 18" cable on the DP trap due to the softer soil they are usually set in. For coyote, Super stakes with 16" chain
