Seasons End

Haven't trapped for 20 years and called in a favor from a friend to show me how to set some simple coon sets around the house. Finally have some land and turkeys to boot, so I figured a few less coon would make the spring a little easier on the polts. Worst case sceario, I spent some extra time with my two boys (2 yrs and 6 yrs)

The 3rd and last day of our first excursion, we nabbed a 16 pound sow and my 6 year old was hooked. What turned into a small endeavor morfed into a full blown line and goals for us.

We ended the season with 15 coon (a 28Lbs, 21.3Lbs were two of them), 3 possums, 2 muskrats, 1 skunk, and 2 beaver (45.3 lbs and 37 lbs). We didn't chase fox since we didn't start till the end of Nov. and the new traps needed to be boiled and dyed.

I read more than i'll ever post, but I've learned a bunch from you all and from others I've talked with. The boys and I are already looking forward to next year and setting a lofty goal of 40+ coon several fox and at least pick up that on dmn mink that we messed with for 14 days. Lucky little bugger!
