coons with tags

Caught another coon with tags. they must have tagged/vaccinated a lot more this year than last.

I did take some pics the tags are hard to notice. I skinned the one I caught in nov and didn't notice it until I was brushing it. I'll try and post pics tonite.

USDA, I don't think did anymore this year than they have in the past. I'll have to call my buddy to see how many flights he took this past summer.

on one tag it says do not eat. Which was missing from the 2nd one I caught. On the other 2 jsut a phone# and an id#.

I called they will send aletter telling where and when it was caught and released.

I caught 1 2 years ago with tags here are some pictures.
I called USDA and they sent me a nice certificate and when the coon was trapped. This one was at least 4 years old when I caught it.

you must have really worked at cleaning up those tags. You couldnt even tell they were brass when I saw them.

That is very interesting, I had no idea there was a raccoon tagging program. I wonder what purpose it serves?
