Favorite Coon Coilsprings?

Ok, so in prepping for next season I would like to add some coilsprings to my arsenal for cubby setting coons. What brand/size is everyone using? Positives and negatives of what you use. Thanks

For strictly coon, you cant beat a duke #1 double jaw..........I have caught a lot of fox in them too.......

Re: Favorite Coon Coilsprings?

Duke 1.5 is hands down the best trap for coons. They are cheep so u can run more traps. They have the best jaws for holding a coon. 2 or 3 min to do some qiuck mods and they are ready to go. For dry land when there is a chance for a fox i like the Montana special 1.5.

work harder millions on welfare are depending on you

Re: Favorite Coon Coilsprings?

I do like Dukes and Sleepy Creek 1.5's coil springs but i use alot of Sleepy Creek #11 double jaw- double long springs.May not have quite as much jaw spread but whatever gets in them, stays in them including 50 pound beavers.Don't ask!! Ha! But it wasn't happy and i was amazed at the holding power. They are really strong, coons can't chew their feet and they bed nice in the soft mud.

Re: Favorite Coon Coilsprings?

I use the bridger 1.5. They are a good trap need a little adjusting like the duke. Truthfully they are both about the same quality.
