CR escape?

Hey guys,

Walked up on a cr catch circle this morning without an animal in the restraint. Fox turds and tracks everywhere but no boot tracks or blood so the animal wasn't stolen. Cable itself was fine, not frayed or broken. The loop was closed enough when I found the CR that the fox shouldn't have backed out of it.

Just wondering if anybody has had a fox escape a CR?

I wasn't sure if I did something wrong or what?

thanks

Re: CR escape?

I had a yote do that to me this morning, I think I got it by the legs. I think the coyote lifted it's head up higher then the CR.

You probably had it by the leg,

Re: CR escape?

That makes sense, being as that would be the only way it could get leverage to reverse the locking mechanism. Close call i guess.

I was surprised by the catch circle, I must have had it for a good while.

Do you think I might have had my loop to low which would cause a feet first catch? I had it set 7 inches up with a 7 inch loop.

Thanks
