I use 2 coil. I was told that the 2 coil MB was as good as a four coil bridger. So I went with only 2 coiled

2 coils feel pretty strong to me on the MB550. 4 coil is really more for speeding up the trap action in snow or slight frozen covering. I have a half dozen MB550's and think they are the best. No worrying about adjusting the dog for pan tension after a catch, plus just plain ready out of the box ( with removing grease, rusting, etc still done of course).
