first time success

I picked up a few traps very late this year, and got them cleaned up and waxed last week. I dont really no anyone that traps, and figured I better stick to hay sets, (seem easy to make). had them out for about a week with no success. tryin to catch foxes.

Yesterday I took 2 more traps and set a few dirt hole sets (to the best of my ability). I either got really lucky, or me reading all the posts on here paid off, because this morning I had a nice big female coon in one of the dirt hole sets.

even though I am trying to target fox, I was still excited, because this is the first animal that I have ever trapped.

Thanks for all the good info folks!! try to get a pic up asap

Re: first time success

Congrats, I know the feeling. I did the same thing and had my traps out just over a week and caught my first ever, it was a male red. I am hooked.

Every action has a reaction, it is what we do with the reaction that makes our action successful.

Nice job. Something is always better than nothing! Way too many days with a goose egg this year.
