First Fox

I live to hunt, but have never trapped and wanted to give it a try. I don't post too often on here, but read a bunch and pretty much got the info needed on how to get started from this forum. The sharing of knowledge on here is great to see.

As suggested in some threads on here I purchased my gear from Minnesota Trapline Products and bought a specific brand (Oneida) as they are made in the U.S.A.

I used a "hay set" that was described in the "hey-set how to" thread on this forum. And placed them based on some tips in some threads on here.

I tried to keep my expectations in check so as not to get discouraged, but the morning of my first check I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning. My check revealed that I had some investigation on two of my set, but nothing triggered a trap.

Then on the second day as I rounded the corner to my second set I was pleasantly surprised to see this awaiting me. As soon as I saw him I said to myself "No way, it actually worked"

It is a male with a less then prime pelt, but it's my first.

Just want to share and give a big thanks to all with knowledge and experience who share it on this forum.
