Fishers Everywhere

Saw what I thought was a dead fisher along the roadway Sunday. Pulled over to check and sure enough, fisher. It was a good sized one as well. The last two days I went checking for fox/coyote sign in my area. Want to get out and see what's around before the snow melts with the upcoming warm up. In two different locations I found fisher tracks. Back in the end of October I caught one in a fox set and managed to release the angry critter without it taking one of my fingers off .
We've even treed a couple in the past with hounds. I sure wish they would open a season on them in my part of the state.

Re: Fishers Everywhere

My buddy has had to release SEVEN this season! And this area is not open to trapping them.

There is no "Catch and Release" in the world of hunting!!!!

Get gary alt to come out of retirement and bring him back to manage them. They'll be gone in a few yrs. I thought they were reintroduced to control the porky population ? Well, it's not working. Another fine program from the PGC.

My brother and I saw one back in the early 2000's while fishing walked right in front of us along the bank before they were said to be around

Yotekillerbill. That looks like a good sized one. Was it a male? I've only had to release one and it was much smaller than that.. And much lighter in color..

It is time to manage avian predators!

I could care less about supposed intentions.. to me the only intention is to return PA to its original splendor. I say we should bring back any species possible that man has killed off from this commonwealth. Thats the only real way to have a better balanced ecosystem.
