Re: wire?

Do your self a favor use 11 ga and double it,I loss a lot of traps and animals with 14 ga. wire. I have used every thing possible for drags from rocks to pipe, just make sure the drag is heavy enough or long enough to tangle

Re: wire?

Yes Yes.....big enough to tangle or just heavy enough to drag with a lot of effort or you'll find your coon up in a tree. Learned the hard way this year already with a DP.

If I'm not hunting or fishing with the kids....I'm somewhere on a Judo mat.

Re: wire?

That's plenty big enough Lackawanna. Just make sure they're attached solidly to your drag and I think you are good to go. Coon are amazingly strong for their size.

We set one using a cable around a sapling this year. Well we nailed a big boar and he took the cable straight up the sapling and then tried to get onto another larger tree nearby. Thank goodness he got the cable hung up. My son and I found him dangling by the front paw with the sapling bent over.

I have tried to upload pics here but have never been successful else I'd post the photos we took.

Best of luck to you. Please let us know how your drags work out.
