Warm weather = Less fox??

Wondering what peoples thoughts are on the exceptionally warm nights we've been having. I've got some time off here so I'm running about 40 sets on nice farms. Was really hoping for some more fox. Does the weather have them traveling less? Still eating grasshoppers and such? Or am I just being impatient? Any thoughts welcome.

It is time to manage avian predators!

Re: Warm weather = Less fox??

I feel that the warm nights don't help. I did catch some reds on wed. thurs. and sunday nights but then again the temperatures were nice and cool. I saw a couple frogs hopping around while I was making a mink set in the creek at my house sunday afternoon. Warm weather = abundance of food which decreases (to some degree) the animals desire to work a set, or at least thats the way I look at it.

I'll keep my money, guns, ammo, and health care; you can keep your change

I dont think that the temp has as much to do with it as
the air being crisper and the scent is clearer,

wet warm heavy air is thick and not as clear,

you can still pick them up but they just has to be closer to the sets.

Just my 2.5 cents (inflation) think about it

Re: Warm weather = Less fox??

one more thing.

I know fox hunting I can get away with alot more when its heavy air,

I can walk a fox to 30 yds in a soft field Dont try it on a cold clear night. they will scent you even if the wind is in your face at 20 mph.
