2011 Muskrat Season...off to a slow start?

We seem to be off to a slow start. Very warm weather here in Union County. Anyone else off to a slow start with fewer rat catches than last year so far? Will a cold snap get the rats moving?

My son and I:
Coon: Opossum:
Gray Fox:
Rat: Mink:
Red Fox: Skunk:

For your sake I hope it does. I really do.

Or you just might be affected with the same condition that affects large parts of the Commonwealth, few to no rats.

I trap mink because I don't know any better

It's a shame the muskrat population is suffering so much. They are one of my favorites to trap but with the numbers down, I really don't want to trap what is left?

Im trapping them here as pure damage control..not in any big number but they cant stay in the ponds at a housing development nor the creeks elsewhere..it is what it is...

..sitting in a tent over decoys ain't turkey hunting...
