Remake question

Seem to have a problem catching anything after I've caught some raccoon in my land sets. Haven't had much action or any catches at these sets since they caught a raccoon (each set caught one coon and then no action). Trying to catch some fox or more raccoon, so what should I do? Should I replace the trap with a clean one?

Re: Remake question

o Ive been having the same results with coons in DPs
I would catch one and rebait and reset it
the next few checks nothing in them but seen fresh tracks in the same area
Also other DPs would connect in the same areas the other DPs have caught one
Never caught 2 outta the same DP

Re: Remake question

Ya I'm not sure if its something with scent or what. I cleaned the traps as best I could (wiped fur and blood off trap before resetting) and they weren't really that bad.

Re: Remake question

Coon are very smart. They know danger. When setting for coon in an area you have to gang set the heck out of them. You have to catch them all at once or as many notice after a single or double it drys up.They know whats up when momma or daddy dont come home after getting a new bracelet. They are smart animals.

Re: Remake question

Would a fox shy away from a non target catch remake set? I thought they would be more enticed by the eye appeal of a torn up catch circle.

Re: Remake question

Reds seem to love a coon remake. Any sign of red fox?

As to coons not being caught anymore, did the corn get cut recently? They may have moved on once their primary food source is gone. Are there new coon tracks near the sets? Have you relured since the last rain?
