coon sets not connecting latley

i put our some sets for coon where i had trail cam pics of about 8 coons on the corn pile during the summer and have seen them during the first week of archery. 2 weeks ago i missed something in one of my traps had it with a partial catch circle but got out. no shoe prints around so i know someone didnt take it bc there was fresh mud around the trap. Wednesday i got one, about a medium sized one. checked the traps and no action except one flipped a trap on me. i re baited with marsh mellows and no action. any suggestions?

Re: coon sets not connecting latley

use some different bait, sardines work well for coon or just try a sweet lure

I have been having the same problem. I was using marshmallows and PB mixed with molasses. Hooked up with a double the first night and haven't had once since, that was over a week ago. I have moved my DP traps closer to the creek and added sardines and small shrimp to my sets. We will see what happens.

Re: coon sets not connecting latley

The past few years they have been traveling by this way all the time have been seeing them in my archery stand 15 yards away but not in season. Rather trap them then shoot them with the bow but when it comes to hunting season open for them don't see them and people can't hunt on the land with hounds it's just outside a wilderness development with a bunch of cabins but with older folks
