Coyote Set Advice

Need to get rid of some coyotes in a 40 acre patch of woods around housing developments. I know they are living there as I have them on my trail cameras regularly. Advice on lure or bait for wooded area as there is no fields. Thanks

Re: Coyote Set Advice

Set near trail or funnel. Make sure you take all the (trapping precautions). Only use a small amount of lure. Good Luck

Re: Coyote Set Advice

jed74-- I am by no means an expert but set upwind of where they are travelling so the scent crosses their probable path. Dirthole set with food bait in the hole and urine (fox or coyote) on the backing (log/rock/etc...). I also put gland scent (very little) on the backing. Since you are near a development beware of neighbors dogs. You can find a lot of references on how to make a dirthole set on this site or on YouTube.

I like to set in the wide open and try to avoid coons, opossums, etc... Leave an update and let us know how you make out. Good Luck!!!
