If its state land I don't see why it wouldn't be.

I think you can trap it. However I wouldn't just for the fact of hikers with dogs. Plus the added fact that a lot ( not all !!) hikers have this "modern day hippie life style" where they hate hunters/trappers, and they are going green and saving the rainforests, etc. I think you will run into a lot of problems. However I do know there are tons of critters along the trail !! Just my input good luck

A government that doesn't trust it's law abidding citizens to bear arms is unworthy of trust itself.

I hile the AT quite a bit and agree with what you said. Another point tough - carting the critters out is probably going to get the trapper some uncivilized comments from the hikers. And the part about the dogs is something to consider as well.

Good night Chesty, wherever you are......

well I think if i went I would plana head of time with google maps to find places off the trail and would probably use DP's along the streams. Still not sure. It would be alot of fun maybe a 4 day weekend or something like that. hopefully some of the hippies will clear out with the cold weather lol

I wholeheartedly agree! The type of folks I've run into along the trail seem to be bunny and tree huggers.

I trap mink because I don't know any better

also the trail is very rocky in PA ( a lot of hikers nickname it the Hiking Boot graveyard) A pack basket is heavy enough without climbing over boulders.

Re: legal to trap along the appalachian trail?

The Appalachian Trail runs just behind our place on piney mtn in Michaux
Them modern day hikers are really something.!!
not like the hikers of old.

I walk it with a gun alot just as a way to cover area fast.
Fox hunting, I get the lip alot.

I would vote against it and them mountain bikers are another group of idiots also with there dogs and the mentality that they can go anyplace they please.

they dont like trappers and fur hunters either.

well just my 2 cents guess you could call me a hater lol.
