Posting private property 4 trapping

I have several private property farms I am the only person allowed to hunt. Must I, or should I post that trapping is taking place?

I ask for both legal and moral reasons. There have been a few times some people trespassed and neighboring properties, some have dogs. Wanted to hear how you all handle it.
Thanks 👍

There is no legal reason to post, trapping for 55 years and never posted. Yes sometimes you catch hunting dogs or roaming dogs. Owners are never happy. Very good chance your trap will be taken or destroyed. By choice I choose traps like MB450 that won't hurt any animal if released within a reasonable time, this year I've released a house cat and a gray fox. Once had a hunter trying to pry his young beagle out of my trap with a stick. I reached down a released it and the dog continued on the rabbit trail. Hunter thought I should put signs around the area the trap was in, tried to explain to him about thieves.

OK this is a little off topic but did Pa. pass the PURPLE color tree painting as a legal way to mark posted properties ? I see that Krayon already has purple trespassing spray cans available.. sorry for sniping your thread..

I will never post anything saying I have traps in the area. I did it once, thinking I was being considerate of people who may be out with their dogs. Had several traps destroyed and caught the man ruining my sets red handed, it almost got really ugly really quick as he was armed and belligerent.

If you are the only person allowed to hunt there, and the property owners don't have pets that they allow to roam, I don't see any reason to post.

NO. If you have permission to trap.
Trappers are usually low keyed. Go in do your thing, get out.

Like Hern said...I want to be like a ghost when I trap. I donít like leaving tracks in the snow ( canít be avoided ), keep my vehicle hid if possible, wear camo, and donít run my gums to others I see. Iím not trespassing or violating any laws, but youíre asking for problems when you advertise what youíre doing.
