Youth trappers

Are youth trappers permitted to tend traps and dispatch furbearers without adult present? Only thing I found in the digest is "persons under 12 may use a 22 caliber or smaller rimfire rifle, but only when accompanied by an adult". What regs apply to those youth over 12 y/o??

The digest doesnít have much to say about this. I trapped before I was 12, alone. I was rat trapping, so nearly every critter was dead in the trap. I carried a maple club in case something was found alive. Iíd guess that kids tending traps alone wouldnít be permitted to carry a firearm...but Iíve been wrong before. Iím gonna see a PTA officer soon, he would know.

Don't know for sure. Dad turned me loose with a .22 at age 12. Still my favorite.22. We had been safely handling guns together for 5 years prior. He would pay us .05 cents a chipmunk tail. I would often make a buck and be able to buy another box of 50 rounds for the next time. Chipmunks were legal targets back then. Started with a BB gun then a .22 cal. Pellet gun until I got the .22 rifle for my 12th BD.

The difference between dreamers and achievers is action.
One try is worth a thousand guesses.
