I saw a bobcat in lycoming co. It was gray with spots. I thought they were yellow or tanish.

Gray-ish, Red-ish, Brown-ish, Tan-ish color varies here in the east.
Also, low light, cloudy days, long distance or sun at animals back- animals appear darker.
While checking traps, and noticing a catch from long distance or cloudy morning, my eyes have been fooled several times on animals color. When getting to the set location, animal is normal color, or slight variation of color.

I was lucky to draw a tag in the first Pa. Bobcat Lottery.
I was after a 'Black' Bobcat. All Black, and a large Tom. Sullivan County.
I didn't catch that Tom.
An all black Bobcat is rare, indeed.
