Trap'n Tips & Tricks

Show & Tell some tips and tricks you use on the trapline.

Golden Rod
Golden Rod, broken in pieces, is great lure or bait stick.
Break off some stems, snap off the top and clean the leaves off. This can be done before season and in-season.
How many times have you looked for 'the right' stick?

Keep a wad with you, a real time saver...

Moss, you ole Mule skinner, share some tips & tricks you use.

Ag Bags
I use discarded Ag Bags for flagging.
Cut into sizes needed.
Black/White combo is hard to beat

Heavy duty plastic. Tough stuff

Wink

Don't pee on your boots. Literally or figuratively.

The difference between dreamers and achievers is action.
One try is worth a thousand guesses.

Those goldenrod stems make great foot guides as well. A standing goldenrod makes a good flagging hanger too. Lots of movement in the breeze. Can even be used as a loose jaw prop in a pinch. Good for guiding coon on a blind trail set too.

Since I make my trap beds too big I bed my traps using 40D galvanized nails. Plus I use poly fill under the pan, it wouldn’t hurt to put a nail under the loose jaw for stability
