For dirt holes, I use lightly tainted mice ( catch them all year round) and beaver meat, also with a taint. I mix some of the Dobbins Bait Solution with the beaver, and add a little sodium benzonite to stop the rotting. Iím really happy with my bait this year, in a few noghts Iíll see is the canines like it too.

Muskrat, Mink, Squirrel, Rabbit, Deer, Mice, Beaver, Groundhog in no order.

Bait- I use Deer Dust. From local Deer processor. (free)
That's the stuff thrown in the garbage from the band saw.
Like saw dust from a wood saw, Deer dust is fine.
Ready to use fresh. Taint is you wish. Add other scents if you wish. Add Bait Solution & Sodium Benzonite if you wish. Lots of things you can do with it. Easy to make a paste bait.
No cutting chunks, no mess, a time saver.
Its very fine. Critters can't hook chunk from dirthole with their toe nail. Crumbly fine. Critters stay longer to get every morsel.
Deer Dust- Free

On another note dahammy,
Don't over look good lures. Lure odor stays consistent and last a long time.
