4coil mb450s?

Howdy Folks!

My name is Rick and I'm new to the site.
I was wondering has anyone 4 coiled any mb450s? I have mostly 4 coil 550s. Mostly fox and Coon in my area with an occasional coyote. I was thinking the 450s would be more practical for my target species. I also thought the 4 coil would help to break through the frozen dirt crust. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

Can I ask how you keep your sets working in the winter, peat moss, waxed dirt or others methods?I never four coil anything #2 and smaller. If I think that size trap needs more I just change the springs with music wire springs.
Hern and jarentz like this.

Thanks for the suggestions. I called Jeff at MTP. He said no to the 4 coil 450s. He suggested 2 coil 550s. I freeze proof with peat and wax dirt mixed along with glycol spray and barker pan covers. Any suggestions on freeze proofing would be great also. Thanks guys!

best bet of freeze proof is to wait till below freezing temps , followed by more of the same , if it don't get warm it wont freeze
