Thief caught red handed

I had a very upsetting/disappointing incident while checking my traps today. I had three sets left on a local game land, and caught someone trying to steal my traps. I had three sets in a 20yd radius, and walked up to this guy trying to pull the last set, he already had two traps/stakes in his hand. Needless to say I was very angry and he was less than apologetic about it, things nearly got physical, but I recovered my traps. It makes me sad that there are “sportsman” out there that would behave like that

Did you get his ID and turn him in? Trap and or fur theft results in a substantial fie and loss of license. BTW, the thief was not a sportsman, he is just a thief.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Hope u turned him in or your just asking for it again! Flintlock hunters or trappers or theives don't need orange.

I was not able to get his I.d. And did try getting his plate number but was unable, he backed out of the parking lot in a hurry. He was driving a gray Jetta. He was carrying a flintlock and didn’t have orange on. When confronted initially he claimed they were his traps. After an argument he threw them into the brush and walked back towards the parking lot. I followed at a distance, you never know what an armed thief is capable of. The police have been alerted

Pull out your phone and take his picture next time. Then his vehicle if possible. Glad you got your traps.

Not a good idea to set near the parking lots on game lands. Learned that the hard way. You got off easy. Just saying.

One try is worth a thousand guesses.
