Coons?

Anyone still catching coons near water?I caught 4 in the second week of November in a small drainage behind my house all with just foil sets in the riffles, then it seemed they shut down so I figured with this warm up they may run again.I set 4 pocket sets this A.M. baited with jack mackeral.

Re: Coons?

Been catch'n a few the past few weeks, in field edges & woods, canine sets.
I only have three sets near the Susquehanna and they are pre-baited combo sets for Coon, Mink & Greys. Which they been connecting this past week.
I made stone cubbys and hide my trap and drag in a little bit of hay. Baited with lure, Fish Oil, Deer Meat paste & Christmas Turkey leave'ns.
Here's a simple cubby along the Susquehanna...
set is end sandbar where driftwood is against rocks...

*above picture- Notice the narrow shoreline at this spot. Narrow shoreline in background (50-60 yds away) is another cubby and behind me is another set at the narrowest part of the shoreline.

nothing facny, freeze proof and stinky...here's a closer look...
