The Coyotes are playing with me

I'm just a hobby trapper with limited amount of time. So I just run 15-20 sets on my farms and a farm up the road from me. The coyotes have put my feeder cattle threw the fence. Chased and harassed my momma cows. Put my sets out at the end of October. The coyote has been playing with me. Have had many pull outs, walk byes, walk ups and pee on the back side of my sets, lay down and roll over the traps. Finally got my first one a yesterday in a CR 7x7 3/32" weighted 49 pounds. Had one pull the Ferrule off at the swivel and last night had one chew the CR off. Any ideas on how to make more catches and less misses. I have set my pan tension a little higher to about 3 1/2 pounds and went with some MB 550 traps to help with the misses. I ordered some CRs that are made out of 1X19 cable will this keep them from chewing them off? I check my traps at first light. By having all these misses will they go to a new area? Any ideas

Nice dog! I'm starting to think Big Bad Coyotes are hard to keep on PA legal cable restraints IF they want out bad enough!

I'm wondering if they can be held in CR's. Do you all get a lot of chew outs I will try putting something for them to chew on see if that helps.

Re: The Coyotes are playing with me

I put three or four links of chain on the tops of my cables. never had a problem with them getting chewed off but you don't have that little loop sticking up in your trap bed that way.
