Lord knows with a coon, maybe in a fight with another or just got himself stuck against something sharp. I think that hey are meaner than cats.

looks like he could have rubbed it or mabey some other critter took an small chunk out of him. not scalley like mange but the begings of mange some times arn't scally. skin him not a good pelt but might bring 4 bucks.

i belive i'll go Trapping!

Thats what I would say. I had one earlier in the season that looked the same but was busted up inside. also had a broken leg

I had one this year when I was skinning it popped white nasty stuff all over me. it was in infected bite mark no hair loss but you could tell there was something going on there.

car, another critter bit him, rubbing in a den, big thorn stuck him and started getting infected,[puss pocket] several things happen in the wild...
