thrift shop fur

So tonight i took my oldest into the thrift shop with me. ( Ive been picking up old wool shirts and sewing them into hats and whatsastuff.) I couldnt believe the amount of fur on the racks. We saw bear fur coat, 2 mink fur coats, muskrat fur coat 2 mink stoles, a fox and a coyote coat, and two i could not ID. A few weeks ago at another shop they had an ocolotte coat. Its a shame to see that is not so much in fashon anymore. However I do see a few department stores (Macies, ect) that do sell new. Id sure like to see it come back into style stateside, but wonder if it ever will.

fake fur is out there to remember, you sure the stuff you saw at the name brand places was real?

Re: thrift shop fur

My son's girl friend goes to college in Jersey, she is into fashion, says women vests are in style and vest of wild fur are becoming popular as well. She would like one made from muskrats, so the boy trapped some for this reason. Not sure if he caught enough but they are going to follow through with the process. My wife said she would like one as well.
I am going to really push the issue to make this all work out. Great way to promote wild fur.
