Mass tick removal

I caught a decent blonde coyote this morning, only to find it loaded with a major tick infestation.
What is the best way to remove mass amounts of ticks? Any tricks?

Re: Mass tick removal

Permethrin spray to kill them and start pulling.

Another way is they may back out when the body temp drops and move under the animal for warmth.

I spray all my animals with raid or similar products. It kills them all. I put them in a trash bag and spray them.

I like Raid in the garbage bag too. Quick and easy. When I was real busy last fall, I threw a bunch of stuff in the freezer in the round. That'll kill any ticks, fleas or lice too.

Thanks for the replies. I skinned her, placed fur out in a garbage bag and then laid flat in the freezer. I'll thaw it out next week and try a comb before fleshing.
