Finally cold weather coming...

Gonna be below freezing at night for the next week...Putting sets on my best three best fox farms starting tomorrow, now that i'll finally be able to drive the field roads without making a muddy rutted up mess!!! Wish me luck!!

HEY you talkin bout me???? lol i can never seem to find that happy medium between animals moving and having my set encased in ice XD. definitely ready to start seeing something other than possum though, just picked up number 6 today. good news is it just rained for a week straight and yesterday when i was digging up a few sets all i had to do was dust off a little layer of wet and the peat underneath was dry. so maybe this year when mister coyote decides the excavate my dirthole like last year the trap will fire XD

Rollin....I switched from peat moss to waxed dirt a while back. Peat moss/ with glycol does offer good freeze protection, but when wet, you still get a crust of ice when it freezes. Waxing dirt is extra work, but it'll keep your sets working when everything else freezes. Not hard to make, just takes some time.

Got out two cables on good trails in some goldenrod fields...Two dirt holes and two flat/scentposts one one farm, and six rat sets out on the farm with the goldenrod fields...waiting on the owner to give me permission to trap the beavers if his buddy isn't gonna!!! One more good farm to set tomorrow morning!!!
